Eastern Mennonite University on Monday dedicated the largest solar project in state history.

More than 300 solar modules have been installed on the roof of Hartzler Library on the school's Harrisonburg campus.

Secure Futures LLC, based on Church Street in Staunton, contracted with EMU on the plan to add the state-of-the-art photovoltaic solar array on the library roof.

Officials said the system is capable of generating 104 kilowatts of electricity per hour.
