A Staunton doctor facing two sexual battery charges had his license suspended today by the Virginia Board of Medicine for alleged sexual contact with a patient to whom he gave drugs.
The board voted 13-1 to suspend the license of Charles K. Weisman, 45, physician at Blue Ridge Family Practice, according to conference call minutes provided by the board.
In a 34-page document, the state board describes allegations that on “several occasions” between July and November 2007, the doctor engaged in sexual contact with a patient. It also describes allegations that he provided narcotics to the patient without a proper diagnosis.
Weisman faces possible monetary penalty and probation. A formal hearing will allow the doctor to respond.
Staunton police brought criminal sexual battery charges against Weisman in February for incidents he alleged were raised by “disgruntled” ex-employees. He awaits a hearing next month on those charges.
